Hohner Double Ray (aka black dot) BC. A lovely early example from the 1930s and the model that Hohner developed with input from Jimmy Shand. I have complete a full overhaul with all reeds cleaned, re-valved, re-waxed and tuned to a moderate tremolo. I have converted the bass from the Hohner layout designed for playing in B to the modern bass layout shown here. There is a limit to the button travel on the right hand side, re-faced the pallets on both sides and fitted felt bushes to the bass buttons. Externally the black painted finish, with its striking white and green graphics, is all original. I have done very little apart from cleaning and fitting new bellows straps. It’s now ready for a new owner and a new 21st century playing career.
